Tighnabruaich Sailing School is renowned for

providing excellent sailing instruction. With over 40

years of experience, Tighnabruaich Sailing School has

the unique advantage of being a truly family business.

We pride ourselves on the continuing success of the

sailing school in one of the most beautiful parts of the

west of Scotland. The Kyles of Bute is the perfect

location for dinghy training. The sheltered coastal

waters and stunning scenery, combine to make our

sailing an experience you won’t forget.

The Schools principal Derek Andrews has been an

RYA qualified instructor since 1985 and is a RYA

Coach Assessor. His wife Fiona has been sailing all

her life and also has the RYA instructor qualification.

Together with their small team of qualified instructors,

they provide the on and off water tuition.

Our reputation is one which we are extremely proud

and is based on our long record of providing the

highest level of sailing instruction, equipment, safety

and of course, fun.
